Dev Ittycheria
President & CEO
Dev Ittycheria serves as the President & CEO of BladeLogic and is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company. Under his leadership BladeLogic has acquired more customers, delivered better operating performance in terms of revenue and profitability, and grown its business faster than any of its competitors. In July 2007, Dev led one of the most successful technology IPOs (NASDAQ:BLOG) of the year. As a result, BladeLogic is recognized as one of the leading software infrastructure companies in the industry today. Before co-founding the company, Dev was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Bessemer Venture Partners, a leading global venture capital firm, where he created the vision and recruited the core team to launch BladeLogic.
Previously, Dev was Senior Vice-President & General Manager of the ASP division at Breakaway Solutions. Dev played a critical leadership role in building the business and taking the company public, and was responsible for Breakaway's ranking as the #2 ASP based on revenue and customers in just 18 months of operations. Earlier, Dev was the Co-Founder, President & CEO of Applica, one of the first venture-backed ASPs, which was acquired by Breakaway. Previously, Dev held senior positions in the data communications businesses of AT&T and Teleport Communications Group.
In 2007, Dev received the All-Star award from Mass High Tech. In 2004, Dev was recognized jointly by Ernst & Young and Microsoft as an "Entrepreneur of the Year" for his outstanding leadership at BladeLogic. In 2000, Dev was recognized along with such industry luminaries as Steve Ballmer, Larry Ellison and Scott McNealy as one of Computer Reseller News' top 25 executives in technology for his leadership and vision in creating the ASP business model. Dev holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University.
