VIRGIN MOBILE SELECTS BLADELOGIC FOR DATA CENTER AUTOMATION

The UK’s Largest Mobile Virtual Network Operator to Use BladeLogic to Streamline Server Management and Software Deployments

Waltham, MA, February 7, 2005—BladeLogic, Inc., the leading provider of data center automation software, today announced that Virgin Mobile, the UK’s largest mobile virtual network operator, has selected BladeLogic Operations Manager™ as its server management automation platform. BladeLogic Operations Manager, a suite of enterprise-class data center automation solutions, enables organizations of any size to provision, configure and manage large-scale, distributed server environments more efficiently, resulting in dramatically reduced data center operating costs, improved responsiveness and enhanced server security.

Initially, Virgin Mobile will use BladeLogic Operations Manager to deploy software to its pre-production and production server environments and to replace a manual process that was time-consuming and prone to error. BladeLogic Operations Manager will enable Virgin Mobile to dramatically improve the time it takes to package, distribute and deploy software updates. Moving forward, BladeLogic will be used to streamline the process of updates and changes being made to all server environments, from testing and quality assurance through pre-production and production environments.
