BLADELOGIC APPOINTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Seasoned Industry Veteran to Lead BladeLogic's Global Services Organization

Lexington, MA, April 2, 2007—BladeLogic, Inc., a leading provider of next-generation data center automation software, today announced the appointment of Jeff Lortz as Vice President of Professional Services. Lortz brings to BladeLogic over 15 years of experience rapidly growing profitable services businesses. He will lead BladeLogic's professional services organization and is responsible for all aspects of the company's consulting and training services on a global basis.

Jeff brings a very strong track record in professional services management having previously led the worldwide services organizations for two public software companies. As Vice President of Professional Services for Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), Jeff led the company's consulting efforts during PTC's rapid march to dominance in the mechanical design and manufacturing software market. At PTC, Jeff managed a $150 million business unit consisting of 600 people in 25 countries and helped develop PTC's product lifecycle management services. Jeff was also Vice President of Professional Services for Pegasystems, Inc., a leading provider of business process management (BPM) tools. Prior to Pegasystems, Jeff was Vice President of Professional Services for Bowstreet (now IBM), a developer of tools for rapid deployment of J2EE portals and web applications. Jeff began his career in the United States Navy, where he was responsible for all propulsion-related mechanical equipment for a 1,000-man nuclear-powered warship. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island.
