BLADELOGIC NAMED "COOL VENDOR" BY LEADING ANALYST FIRM
Vendors Selection Based on Innovation, Market Impact and Intrigue
Waltham, MA - April 7, 2004—BladeLogic, the number one provider of data center automation software, has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in a research report by Gartner, Inc. entitled, “Cool Vendors in Configuration Management.” BladeLogic was one of only three vendors cited in the Server Configuration Management market.
The report, published on March 29, 2004 and written by Analysts Donna Scott, Ronni Colville, Milind Govekar, Patricia Adams, and Debra Curtis, highlights vendors from four configuration management areas: Server Configuration Management; Network Configuration Management; Configuration Management Business Intelligence; and IT Service Configuration Management. Server Configuration Management was noted by the analysts as experiencing “a surge in enterprise interest during the past 18 months in response to the popularity of multitiered application architectures and the vast increase in change frequency (for example, rolling out new application releases, functionality, patches and others), as well as the economic reality that IS applications can’t increase staff accordingly.”
“Given that Gartner is one of the most respected technology research firms, we are pleased to be named a “cool vendor” in their report on the configuration management market,” said Dev Ittycheria, president and CEO, BladeLogic. “As more and more companies look to automate their data centers, many will turn to analyst firms, such as Gartner, to get a better understanding of the software offerings available on the market. Reports such as this one will give these companies insight on which vendors have “innovative and interesting” server configuration management products.”
