BLADELOGIC ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF PETER GYENES TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Former CEO of Ascential Software & Informix Corporation Will Serve as Independent Board Member and Add Growth and Value Creation Experience
Lexington, MA, September 12, 2006—BladeLogic, Inc., the world’s leading provider of data center automation software, today announced the appointment of Peter Gyenes to BladeLogic’s Board of Directors.
With over four decades of technology and software experience, Peter Gyenes brings to BladeLogic deep insight on how to effectively scale enterprise software companies. Prior to joining BladeLogic’s Board of Directors, Gyenes served as Chairman and CEO of Ascential Software, which was acquired by IBM in 2005. Before Ascential, Gyenes was Chairman and CEO of Informix Corporation and led the sale of the company’s database business to IBM. Gyenes joined Informix through its acquisition of Ardent Software, where he served as Chairman, President and CEO. Before joining Ardent, Gyenes was President and CEO of Racal Interlan. Previously, Gyenes served in sales, marketing and general management positions at Data General, Encore Computer and Prime Computer. Earlier in his career, Gyenes held sales and technical positions at Xerox Data Systems and IBM. Gyenes is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received both a B.A. in mathematics and an MBA. He also serves on the boards of a number of public and privately held technology companies, and the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.
