NETFLIX SELECTS BLADELOGIC
FOR COMPREHENSIVE DATA CENTER MANAGEMENT
World’s Largest Online Movie Rental Service to
Automate Server & Application Management and Integrate Data
Center Software Tools using BladeLogic
Lexington, MA, March 19, 2007—BladeLogic,
Inc., a leading provider of next-generation data center automation
software, today announced that Netflix, Inc., the world's largest
online movie rental service, has selected BladeLogic’s award-winning
suite of data center automation solutions as the platform to automate
its IT infrastructure.
Prior to BladeLogic, Netflix managed its server and application
environments using internally-developed tools and scripts. By
selecting BladeLogic Operations Manager, Netflix will be able
to further streamline operations and improve service availability
by fully automating the entire lifecycle of its data center management
processes including provisioning, patching, compliance and day-to-day
server and application configuration management. In addition,
Netflix will also implement BladeLogic Orchestration Manager,
a software solution that provides process automation using event-driven
workflow and data integration with other best-of-breed systems
management software tools. As a result, Netflix expects to create
a cohesive data center environment where configuration changes
can be easily managed, controlled and enforced.
