Lexington, MA, November 27, 2006– BladeLogic, Inc., the leading provider of next-generation data center automation software, today announced that Noridian Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of health insurance with over 60 years of experience in the health insurance industry, has selected BladeLogic’s award-winning suite of data center automation solutions to automate the compliance management processes for its computing and application infrastructure.
Noridian Mutual Insurance Company selected BladeLogic to address the contractor security requirements of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). CMS requires Noridian to capture the inventory as well as all configuration changes and updates to Noridian’s servers and related applications. Prior to BladeLogic, this was accomplished via a manual process. Using BladeLogic, Noridian can now automate the process of tracking, auditing and reporting all configuration changes to maintain an accurate record and the integrity of its computing infrastructure. In addition, BladeLogic will ensure that the configuration of Noridian’s IT systems will be consistent with the federal enterprise architecture defined by the CMS, as well as Noridian’s own information system architecture.
“In order to meet the security goals and deadlines set by the CMS, we needed a server compliance and configuration management solution that had to satisfy all of our specific technical requirements,” said Nick Benson, Project Team Leader, Technical Support, Noridian Mutual Insurance Company. “After carefully evaluating a number of data center automation solutions, we selected BladeLogic due to its comprehensive compliance and configuration management capabilities. Initially, our goal is to meet the specific CMS contractor security requirements by the end of 2006. We will then expand our compliance and configuration management efforts to other areas of the data center in 2007.”
“IT compliance has emerged as a major challenge for health
insurance companies that need to comply with specific technology
policies set by organizations such as the Centers for Medicaid
and Medicare Services,” said John McMahon, senior vice
president, worldwide sales and services, BladeLogic. “By
selecting BladeLogic, Noridian can automate the entire server
lifecycle, including configuration management, compliance measurement,
compliance enforcement and controls reporting. By doing so,
Noridian will not only be able to comply with CMS policies,
it will also be able to optimize all of its server management
processes resulting in a much more efficient IT organization
with lower operational costs.”
